Initial D(efense)

I’ve heard from all kinds of people who have read or watched Initial D the same complaint over and over and over again. If you haven’t guessed it’s Takumi and Bunta’s use of the gutter run on Mt.Akina. People endlessly criticize franchise stating that this technique is completely unrealistic.

It isn’t, WRC drivers and other rally drivers do this all the time, hooking the inside of their wheels around the inside of the road. However, their tires are specially designed as to not shred and pop upon the large amounts of friction generated by such a technique.
